so I was thinking I didnt need a pc anymore since I switched to mac. so I had decided to sell it on ebay. The thing is I wanted to sell it but not deal with lamers and just the hassle in general. Then I remembered not to far from me in a mini mall was a ISoldItOnEbay store. The concept is pretty simple you take an item they deal with it then send you a check.

woohoo great. no. I researched into it a little bit more and you know what they want. 40% of the winning bid! holy cow. Thats almost like half of auction winnings. What a ripoff! Im all for making a profit and they do deal with packing and shipping but 40%? someone in that store is smoking some serious crack.

Yeah, isolditoneBay really is a ripoff. The first time I wanted to sell, I considered going to them, but after I found out the ludicrous prices they were charging sellers, I backed out. Now I sell independently. Its hard to believe that people actually fall for it and do sell with isolditoneBay. There are no longer any isolditonebay stores close to me... I wonder why. ;P

These stores were a fad in my area back when eBay was a somewhat new concept. They are just for people who don't know how to do it themselves and don't want to take the time to learn. All of the eBay stores around here went out of business years ago.

I don't think 40% is that bad all things considered. Sure for your single fairly high priced item that will have have no trouble selling, it is a bit much but just consider all the time that place must spend listing junk that never sells or sells for very little.
