Hi

Vista has stopped recognising CDs and DVDs, yet they are still visible on 10.5 - any ideas?

Thanks!

Open up hardware devices in Vista and make sure the CD\DVD drive is being recognized. If it shows up OK, you might try removing it from the hardware tree and reboot Vista. Vista should pick it up on booting and install the drive plus its driver. That might get you back in business if nothing else is wrong.

Regards.

Thank you so much, that's amazing!
I was a bit worried about uninstalling a drive, so I used your information to find this website (in case this happens to anyone): http://www.pchell.com/hardware/cd_drive_error_code_39.shtml which gives a quick way to sort out the problem!

Thanks again.
