• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Im trying to download a legal movie with no copy rights. Im trying to 'filter' the extensions that my os10.4 will open and use but everything comes up as a zip file that is basically an exe. window application.
I guess my question is which ext. can i select (when i download legal 'anything' with no copyrights on them) so everything i get is able to open with my mac?
I have trans & lime6.

thanks

I have two suggestions:

1) when you search in Limewire, include the term mac, or for mac, or something like that.

2) A better solution is to download a free program called iSquint. It can take almost any video file and convert it into and mp4, which iTunes can play. download it here:

iSquint (Mac) - Download
