Macbook sound not working!! HELP ...HelP!

hi guys....

I am using macbook, there is some problem with the sound on my macbook... it goes to mute in every second by automatic i don;t why it do. first i noticed when i saw listening to a music and it was breaking.... can anyone help to fix it!!

and also when i press the volume button on keyboard "F4","F5","F3" it doens;t work and shows a "no entry kinda sign" ...

are you sure you are pressing the volume keys?? because F5 and F6 are keys for keyboard illumination :)

volume up is F12
down F11
mute F10

yo buddy... in mine ... keys are f3 for mute, f4 for vol down and f5 for vol up!! it just goes mute evrytime

sry then :) just the only place i saw the "no entry icon" was illumination :)

Had you recently plugged headphones or other adapter into the audio out port? Take a look in the port and see if there is a red light showing or flickering in it.

there's actually a red light inside the jack? lol

but it is actually possible that if you plug/unplug something inside the jack, the speakers will kick in, although I had this issue only inside windows, I think when I suspended the computer with headphones inside or something like that, I had to plug/unplug to get sound back .. too bad I can't remember exactly
