Failed upgrade install

I'm trying to upgrade Appleworks 6 with a download from Apple. The installer is on my desktopp, if I try to install I get message 'the default location for this install cannot be found', what should I do ?

it wont work on 10.5
you need to upgrade to iWork

The latest version of AppleWorks, 6.2.9, runs very nicely under Leopard. You do have AppleWorks 6.x.x already installed?
