both are the same price...which is better?..sorry new to the "Mac Word"

The second one as Core 2 Duo is a newer chip. It offers 10-15% improvement at the same clockspeed. Plus, it has the added advantage of having a maximum RAM capacity of 3GB as opposed to the Core Duo's 2GB. This is really a no brainer if they're the same price.

The Black one can burn DVDs though, the white model will read and write CDs, but can only read DVDs.
I'd still go for the Core2Duo myself - the CoreDuos were very buggy...

Can't believe I missed the drive difference. Though I guess if DVD burning isn't that important, then it makes no difference.
