Is the problem with my mac or Fire Fox? I tried to look for a recent site I visited and noticed that the History was empty. I restarted Firefox and visited sites and looked in the history tab and no record of sites visited.

What should I check?

Check your History settings in FF Preferences under the Privacy tab.

Sorry, am personally unable to reproduce that unless I uncheck 'Keep my history for.... days'.

Would look next at whatever add-ons you may have and then check in at the firefox forums also.

Firefox's Clear Private Data does not work

I clear the private data, close down firefox, restart it, and past sites still show up on the address bar. Why?

When you go to Firefox > Preferences... and then click on "Privacy", then clicking on "Clear Now..." did you make sure that "Browsing History" is checked?

Do you keep Bookmarks? Safari uses them for that.

That usually works, the best thing I can think of, is check the firefox site and see if they see anything.

Mistery: Firefox, clear private data, and mac

I looked and looked and there seems to be no help on why I cannot clear my private data. The visited sites keep showing up and I noticed something. My gmail account page shows up but under it it reads, "http://ad.yieldmanager.com/st?ad_type=iframe&ad_size=180x150&site= etc, etc....."

It seems to be ad-ware...

Here is what I have done and do:

Tools>Clear Private Data>close down Firefox>reopen Firefox>check address bar to see if sites still come up> all past visited sites still show up

so I

Firefox>Preference>Privacy Tab>check always clear my data when I close Firefox>clear now>ok>close down Firefox>restart it>check if it worked>no cigar.....
