I just flipped on smb sharing on one folder and gave one user full read/write to that folder. I removed read/write from "everyone" (wouldn't let me remove the whole group for some reason).

However, when I unc to my mac from an xp box it's sharing the entire hard drive from the root. Is there a way to limit it to just the specified folder?

If you want only a folder to share I think you have to go into Windows>Sharing and create /share that folder rather than the whole drive.

I have a windows/mac setup at home. You can limit the access on specific folder on windows just by changing the preferences of the folder in windows. Choose the one that you want to share and follow the instructions above. In addition to this, by default the public folder will also be accessible.
