Dialup on new Powerbook keeps dropping connection, (Mac OS n00b)

I just got my first mac, a new PowerBook (w/15in widescreen) today, (we use Macs at school) and I setup my dial-up which is just your standard phone compnay dial up. My probem is it keeps dropping my connection with in a fiew moments after I connect. How do I fix this?

Is it your ISP? if not then hopefully someone else will have some better answers for you :)

Couldn't be could it? It's standard dial-up. No proggy's to install.

It works with Linux. Maybe I just need to rebbot. :confused:
