Autocad and mac

hey everyone

i have an iMac and it currently runs off of 512 MB of memory. I am taking interior design in the fall and will need to use autocad. I want to be able to run boot camp on my computer and install autocad. Is it possible to update my computer? I bought my iMac almost 2 years ago ... it's the all white one...the one that came out before the black and silver aluminum one.

We run Autocad (Inventor) for a college student. I upgraded the RAM to 3 GB and use Parallels. Bootcamp would work also. It was as little quirky to get the package running but it does run just fine. We run it in Parallels and takes a long time to start up but once it start the student finds it just fine.

It should be fine on that machine, run under Boot Camp - but you will want to bump the memory up. Max it out if possible. The memory shouldn't cost more than $40 or so. You can check out what modules fit at Memory upgrades, flash media, and usb storage at Crucial.com .
