I just bought a refurbished MacBook Pro, FB133LL
15.4-inch widescreen display
2GB memory
200GB hard drive
8x SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 256MB of GDDR3 memory
Built-in iSight Camera

I used coconut identy card and it says mine was built somewhere in 1999,

and on coconut battery, it says the age is 122 months old.

none of this makes anysense to me...

anyother way i can tell how old my MBP is?

I assume based on the specs, its an early 2008 model?

Thanks

That's an early 2008 model for sure. It's the Penryn version of MacBook Pro with the extended multitouch trackpad.

Its obviously not about 10 years old. For cryin out loud its new technology. Besides the fact, Electronics dont age at all unless they are not solid state. They can get worn or damaged. Unless being used a mac book could sit for 20 years and get flicked on to work the same as it did when it was built.

So you should continue to enjoy your macbook. Not take it back cause some software says its old.

Dumb question, why do you care how old a piece of software says it is when you know it can't possibly be that old?

Because most people don't think about things logically.
