Hello and thanks in advance!
I am a support person at a university, and having difficulty solving this printing issue. We have a few staff members on Mac Pros running 10.5.6 that are printing to an HP 4250 printer using trays 1,2, and 3. When we enable the optional printer trays through system prefs>print & fax>printer name>supplies & options>driver then go to print a document and select paper feed then tray 3 it sees tray 3 and prints fine. The problem is if you restart the machine you have to go back to system preferences and install the optional tray again which requires admin authentication.
My question is how do you get Leopard to save the settings and remember the optional trays installed, OR how can we turn off the need for admin authentication for this particular setting?
