Newbie - Did I make a mistake in purchasing this MBP?

Hi,

After years of using my IBM laptop, I've decided to switch to Mac.
I looked into the refurbished line, and purchased the following:

15.4-inch widescreen display
2GB memory
200GB hard drive
8x SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 256MB of GDDR3 memory
Built-in iSight Camera

for $1,349.00

I'll be using my MBP mainly for photography, i.e. Adobe Lightroom/CS4 working with 15 MB RAW files...

And maybe i'll get into some gaming...no movie editing (well not just yet).

Anyway, I was wondering if the above is enough for my needs?

Also, Im wondering if I should have purchased the exact same model as above, except that it comes with a 250GB hard drive AND NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 512MB of GDDR3 memory for only $150 more.

I could care less about the extra 50GB as i have an external hard drive, but will the extra 256 MB video card memory i.e. 512 MB video card, have an obvious advantage/improvement over just the 256 MB in the model i just bought?

I think it would be worth if you do plan on gaming, otherwise you could put it more ram with that money. Or thats a 150 towards software. But its really up to you.

Don't worry, you're not missing out with the lower amount of video memory, even in gaming since the GPU isn't powerful enough to fully utilize the extra memory.
