Program to erase files deleting programs leave behind?

The other day i uninstalled 5 or 6 programs that i never use. When i tired using secure delete, the thing was taking forever and I got impatient. so i just went to normal empty trash. i cant help but feel like it left some files behind, mainly because my empty space didnt increase that much.

are there any programs that search for files that were left behind? i know on my pc i use registry mechanic. thanks

open any finder/desktop window, in the upper right area of that window is a search field, start typing the first 5 or so letters of the app, enough of the name so other similiar things dont show, then delete the results, itll mostly be preference fioles and support files and extensions/plugins.
