safe to backup to second internal drive?

I would like to clear my hard drive and install Leopard on a g5 dual 2.7. I currently have a second internal drive serving as a backup. I'm making a clone of my Tiger disk there, but I'm wondering if the Erase and Install option on Leopard will erase everything since it's internal. Does it matter?

No, if you're careful to only erase and install Leopard on the primary drive, the second drive will not be erased. However, make sure you select ONLY the drive you wish to install Leopard on.
