Hi everyone - first post here.
iBook G3 (NOT G4!) twin USB, 12", G10AS 600MHz logic board.
Powering up causes the CPU fan to run at continuous high speed, and all the keyboard lights to rapidly flash on and off.
Keyboard is known to be OK - tested on other units.
Makes no difference whether extra memory, HDD, CD, modem, battery, screen etc are or are not fitted.
There's a similarity with the G4 regulator issue (except for the flashing lights); could it be a similar regulator problem and if so which component is it?
If not any other ideas?
I am 100% competent with soldering iron, test meter etc.
Many thanks in advance
Nick
