Help please!

I have an 14month old 15" MBP with 2GB extra RAM. Running latest OS X. No problems up until now.

I had my IPod 5th gen attached as a extra HD and tried to open a movie from it. I could still use the mouse but all the icons were frozen. Tried to shut down from the Menu, but it refused to shut down. So I did a forced shutdown with the power button.

Now when I try and power up again the apple 'groan' and the logo appear, then shortly after a gray 'shutter' comes down over the screen and a message appears in multiple languages saying 'restart your computer'. So I do - and the message appears again - ad nausea!

Tried the PRAM reset and the battery in / out tricks, and removing the extra RAM - all no help!

I'm in the middle of the Australian outback and have no Mac! HELP ANYONE!

Many thanks :)

Your Mac's Specs
15" MBP '06 2.33 C2D 4GB 10.7; 13" MBA '14 1.8 i7 8GB 10.11; 21" iMac '13 2.9 i5 8GB 10.11; 6S
Make sure to try each stick of RAM individually.

If that doesn't work, more than likely is some other hardware issue.
