Burned DVDs

I burned a huge amount of music onto DVDs as a backup, becasue i havent enough space on my hardrive. Now i need to restore my ipod so i did, and i went to take the music off the DVDs and it just spat the disc back out at me!?

Whats wrong. If i have to re-rip everything i'll cry(were talking about 60GB)

Question: Do you have another computer to see if the disk is working? Or do you have a CD/ DVD player that can play MP3s?
