• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

I need to add subtitles to a QuickTime movie. I've tried doing it with the "Help" in QT but it's "No Help". The only way I've managed so far is by using the Mac "Text Ed" application, cutting and paste etc in "add to movie". If I try and use the Time Line to add the text at the right part, when the subtitle has finished the movie jumps back to it's default size as the Subtitle part makes it bigger at the bottom. I've got around this by just writing the entire subs on one document then cutting etc and adding to the start of the movie. .I try and get it right with more or less line spaces between the sentances, but it's very hit and miss where the subs line up with the person talking. Also it's taking bloody ages to do it that way lol. I'm sure there's an easier way? :Grimmace:
