Well, you'll need a piece of software called an emulator, and then you would need a copy of Windows. Microsoft Virtual PC might be available with a bit of digging, but otherwise you're limited to iEmulator. Of course, the speed will be no where near that of an Intel machine, since there is quite a bit of overhead in emulation.

Do not bother with emulators. They are oh so s-l-o-w. If you must run Windows save your bucks for an Intel machine.

Agreed and amen. You will spend hours looking at the hourglass ... emulators are not worth it.

Cheers

I don't understand. I thought your questions was pretty well answered above. Do you have another question?

Yep - and it will certainly run Windows via the emulation methods mentioned previously, but it will be a fraction of the speed of a normal PC, since there is a good bit of overhead in emulation. The problem is that you have a PPC processor, which is not compatible with the Intel processors that Windows machines use. So, what an emulator does is act as a translator, converting the language that Intel processors speak to PPC and vice versa. All of this takes a good bit of computing power to function efficiently, so much so that an 1.25GHz PPC CPU would effectively operate at a fraction of its speed under emulation.

Is there any cheeper one?

That was the least expensive I could find from a retailer. You might be able to find it for less on eBay. It's pretty old now though, so it's not going to be easy.

Is there a way to run Wine in an emulator?

Not on a PPC machine. WINE (which amusingly, stands for "Wine Is Not an Emulator) does not have any facility for allowing Intel apps to run on a PPC processor. It merely acts as a translator for calls to Windows APIs.
