Hey all,

Recently started experiencing very slow speeds with web pages loading.

Some load quick, without problems. Others will load half way then stop. Still others will not load at all and time out.

I've cleared the cache, reset Safari, restarted my computer. Nothing works.

Any thoughts? Please keep in mind I don't have a computer background so I would appreciate simple explanations.

Thanks!

Tried Open DNS on both my router and computer and it didn't help.

Still open to suggestions.

Then I would strongly suggest you look at your internet connection using something like Speedtest.net or check for interference if using WiFi (change the channel, switch on QoS or Signal Enhancement or whatever is available).

Try deleting the icon DB in the Safari applications folder ( Library/Safari/icon.db). Before you do so, highlight the item, go to "get info" and set to "read only". This db accumulates bookmark icons rapidly and prevents Safari from loading web pages quickly. Although still not as fast to load as Opera, Safari will be quicker and has the advantage of letting you copy and paste web pages in HTML instead of only Rich Text.

I have the exact same problem with two new Imacs, pls advise if you have solved this problem yet and how you did it. Thanks.
