I've been trying to open gimp on my MB Pro (has X11, got in August)... It keeps saying that the application suddenly closed and this is the report... How do I actually get it to open?

I think you may have an older version of X11. On the GIMP download page they give you a link to the most recent X11. I had the same error message but after upgrading my X11, it works just fine now.

Download

Where it says "GIMP on OS X now supports graphic tablets if you run Leopard. Please download and install the latest X11 provided by the Xquartz-Project, version 2.3.2 or later. "

Hope that helps

If you are fully updated to 10.5.6 you should already have the latest X11, but as the poster above says you need the download for Leopard / Intel.
When I upgraded from Tiger to Leopard I found the older version kept crashing and I had to re-download.

Cheers :)
