Today a friend proposed to me to buy his old iMac G3 that it just sitting in his bedroom. I asked him for the specs so I could consult the forums.

Here is what he gave me:

OS: 8.1 is all he told me, but he said it wasn't OSX?

RAM: 60 MB

Hard Drive: 4GB

Video Memory: 32 MB

Graphics Card: ATI Rage (Did not know the model)

Other information:

Screen is tinted orange; built in color calibration did not work.

Small, unnoticeable cracks.

What do you guys think I should offer him for it?

The most I would pay is $25. You can get a good working imac g3 for $50 including shipping on eBay. The imac has problems and is obviously old. Your friend probably won't be too happy with $25 though.

Thanks! I was actually thinking 100$ =P .

He probably won't care about how much I pay him, though... he says he has no need for it, and it just sits there for him to stub his toe on. Thanks for your help!

iMac G3's are great.
Mine will come today and am can't wait!!!
My imac G3 specs are here:
350 MHZ

20 GIG HARD DRIVE

and I paid £60 inc P&P!
It's in mint condition.

Well, £5 is about $7.50, and that might be a bit cheap...
