Photoshop not opening images

hey there,

all of a sudden my photoshop wont open anything. the program starts up fine,l but when i try to open an image, any image, all i get is the beachball. any ideas? ive tried restarting, running disk util, just about everything. thanks in advance.

nevermind i got it. maybe it had to with the 5500 fonts that were active on my system :-/
