does anyone know if the original black macbook i.e. (80gb HDD) that came out in the middle of 2006 is able to handle 4gb of memory?

Unibody MacBook Pro 2.26, 4gb RAM, 500gb HD
I believe the older MBs are only able to utilize somewhere around 3.2gb of RAM. You can install 4gb, but only 3 will be utilized. Only the 2007 "Santa Rosa" MBs can utilize the full 4gb.

According to 'MacTracker' the MacBook which came out May'06 to Nov'06 2GHz. The Maximum Ram is 2 GB

The later MacBook Nov'06 to May 07. 2 GB Apple. 3 GB Maximum.
