So I was using my mbp on wifi and it ran out of batteries. I plugged it in quickly after it died and when i turned on the power button, nothing was showing. So I removed the battery and unplugged the charger, the placed the battery back in and the charger on the laptop. Now when I power it on, I hear the sound it makes when it powers on, but my screen is blank!? WHat is going on? Any help is greatly appreciated. I won't be able to see a genius until monday... This is urgent =(

Use the function keys to turn up the brightness. It may have somehow been turned down all the way.

Different locations on different models I think. On mine it is F1 and F2. Depending on how your system preferences are set up, you may have to hold down the 'fn' key simultaneously.

You're looking for the following symbol on the keys.

You can also try resetting the PRAM.

Check this page, and scroll down to the section 'For built-in displays'.

I'll hope with you it's not the GPU.

Try booting while holding the mouse button? or trackpad button in case of the macbook.

My brothers iMac g5 died that way, the logic board. Lets hope is something different!

I tried booting it up with the trackpad, still didn't work :'( Do you beleive that it's the graphics processer as this link says it might be? MacBook Pro: Distorted video or no video issues I'm praying that it is and that they'll cover it... I've had this pro for only 1 1/2 years, no applecare..
