iDVD 5 Superdrive Question

I have a PB g4 12", with 1.33ghz processor. My superdrive only supports DVD-R. According to apple, iLife will now support +r as well? Does that only apply to the newest macs, and their advertising is purposly tricky? Or will my superdrive now be able to support dvd+r?
