Another driver problem. I'm on a MacBook Pro, 10.5.6
I print to a Copystar (kyoceramita) Printer at work. CS-3050. I downloaded the driver from the kyocera website and it appeared to install (although to where I don't know, since finder cannot locate any of the files).
I installed the printer as a IPP with the correct address. The printer set up utility could not find a specific driver for the printer, so it just uses the Generic PostScript Printer driver.
For the most part, this hasn't been a problem, and I can print to the printer. However, anything requiring unusual formatting (like envelopes) will not print properly. After trying every conceivable fix, I'm attributing this problem to a lack of proper driver.
I have two co-workers with macs, one of whom is on Leopard and neither have problems, and in both cases, the newly installed driver shows up on the list of available drivers when installing the printer.
What gives? Should I make a genius bar appointment or what?
