I just grabbed a new imac:
Intel Duo Core
3.06 GHz
4 MB RAM
500 Gig Hard Drive
NVIDIA Geforce 8800 GS
I have spore and it runs fantastic with all the graphics setting and resolution maxed. I then downloaded some game demo's. Age of empires 3, Doom 3, Cal of Duty 2, Quake 4. And they all don't run nearly as good as spore. The games look great, but they can get choppy and sluggish, especially doom 3 and call of duty 2. All these games were made in the days of PPC, and I'm guessing this is why they aren't running all that great.
Has anyone else experienced this with these games on a new imac?
