For owners of late 2008 MBPs, do you usually use the 9400 or the 9600? My computer is usually plugged in, so battery consumption isn't an issue. I realize that the 60-65 degree temps for the CPU and GPU when the 9600 is being used really aren't that hot, so is there any advantage of using the 9400 as long as AC power is available?

You kind of answered your own question there. 9400 is about mobility and power saving.

I only use the 9600 GT when I'm doing video editing or photoshopping which is mostly when I'm at home in my room so have access to power.

I paid for the 9600M GT so that's what I use most of the time. My MBP is basically a desktop so it's plugged most of the time. I tote my MBA around with me so You could say that I use both equally, though on separate computers.
