Battery Replacement

I paid Apple & had my 3rd gen Ipod's battery replaced a little over 1 yr ago. I used the Ipod normally after that. Now the battery playback life is only 1.5 hours. Does this seem strange to anyone else? Of course the Apple battery warr. was 90 days. Should I buy a new Ipod or just replace the battery myself?
