Hey, it's a classic! :) You could definitely have some fun with it. I actually kind of like these colorful old ones better in a way. Compared to the one you have, the new aluminums look a little stuffy and pretentious. Enjoy!

Cool!

No it won't be my main computer as I need a very powerfull one for stuff like sibelius 5, Logic pro studio 8 etc... but I would really like it to be my main computer for sibelius but I would need more memory and more hard drive space and (Might) need a better processor.

Yes,
in some ways the old ones do like nicer than the new ones,
I find the new apple computer a little unfriendly compared to the old ones!
I really dislike the new MacBook it is so unfriendly.
My fav imac is the G5 it looks so cool!
I think apply have lost there trade mark as they don't sell any white computers.
I rebember seeing the G5's 5-6 years ago (somthin' like that) and they looked cool!

Now its more of sophisticated rather than good ol' loving fun. As much as I love my slim aluminum iMac, I wouldn't mind if they bring some white Macs back.

Apple have got a Nutt!

Give me a 24" imac old G4 style, I would be in heaven!

I think apple have got a nutter on the job making computer.
Why didn't they keep the old iMacs and just make them them have a better spec.
Is there in any way with £1000 could I get an iMac G5 and make the spec as good as the new iMac?
Is there in any way could I get my iMac G3 and make the spec as good as the new iMac?
Apple have just wrecked there trademark.
I went into PC world and looked at the new MacBooks and they look unfriendly, Freaky and not apple looking.
People need to get a new imac, take all the components out of it and put them in a older imac or ever the cool eMac!

Thats just your opinion. I rather like the new macs.
Also it would get a little boring if they never changed the design!

There is no way you can get the iMac G3 to be anywhere near the same specs of the new iMac. It has a 350 Mhz PowerPC G3 processor, which honestly is completely obsolete now. It can not be upgraded either. The RAM can be upgraded to 1 GB, but even then it is very old low speed PC-100 memory. You are also stuck with 8 MB of video memory and a very outdated GPU. The HDD can be upgraded, but that and the RAM are the only things you can change.

Sorry to put a damper on your excitement, but that iMac is going to be completely useless for anything other than basic word processing. Even web browsing will be painfully slow. Anything with Java or Flash will bring that system to a screeching halt. You would be better off making an iMacAquarium out of it.

And why don't apple sell a range os designs for the imac and MacBook?

Mac is not pure anymore!

Mac is ment to be pure, easy. nice and simple; not a somthing with black?..., YES BLACK keys; no no no it's ment to be white representing a simple, easy computer.

For me, apple are finished, apple ain't apple with no white macs; they don't even do ipods in white anymore
WHITE WAS THERE TRADEMARK!
WHAT ARE THEY THINKIN'!

Just because he has a white MacBook doesn't mean he can't admire the new design as well! I have a white MacBook and I love the new ones too.

Apple is about clean, pure design. About that much you are correct. However it is certainly possible to create elegant design without using white plastic. In my opinion the new iMacs and MacBooks are very clean and simple in appearance. Don't forget that Apple has used metal in computers since the PowerBook G4 debuted in early 2001. The PowerBook, Power Mac, Cinema Display, MacBook Pro, Mac Pro, and now the MacBook have all used aluminum. The original MacBook was also available in black with, yes, black keys.

Apple's trademark is clean design, which doesn't always have to be white. Have you seen a new MacBook up close? They are beautiful.

It's OK to change the design but not the colour!
White was there trademark.
I think that I will make a poll then about this and then send it to apple.
