Hi
I bought an ex display Macbook Pro on the 8th October. Its a late 2007 model. I upgraded to Leopard and have had a fantastic time with it. Then, this morning I booted up to discover the boot screen and a trackpad and keyboard that don't work and no usb either so I can't use my external mouse or keyboard either. I have booked in to see Genius Bar at my local store this afternoon but am worried as the online service assistant on Apples site say I am out of warranty despite the fact I have a receipt from PC World dated 8th October. Anyone know what the problem is or whether Apple will honour the 90 day warranty as technically it's not out of 90 days till 8th January.

And if that was a used machine sold by PC World, my guess would be the warranty is probably PC World's warranty, not Apple's.

New Mac's and Apple refurbished computers come with 90 free phone support and 1 year limited warranties. This basically covers all parts on the machine due to defects.

If Apple is saying the warranty is up, I would think it must have been registered before and then restored to it's original state prior to it's sale to you. You'll find out more by calling Apple or maybe PC World.
