setting up webserver on os x 5

not sure if this is the right forum, if not please feel free to shift it about.

I am serving in Iraq, as such have a lousy connection (up+down speeds suck)

I want to transfer ebooks to my ipod touch, according to the site i normally host with i can do it using a webserver without the aid of the internet
being the computer idiot i am i have no idea what that means!

can someone who is almighty please explain in words how i would set this thing up? I am running out of books to read!!

what format are your ebooks in

There is an ipod touch ebook reader called stanza that seems to support a lot of formats, you may have to email any ebooks you have to your phone, but give it a go
