I have been hearing this really odd noise lately coming out of my speakers, which i have not created myself. It's a clicking noise, 3 in a row, almost like a shutter sound when a picture is taken. The 3 programs that i have running whenever this noise sounds, are Firefox, Entourage, and Adium. Can anybody tell me what this could be? I have tested it, and have noticed that it does it every single time i boot up my Mac partition, whether or not i have a program running. Recently, i removed my Windows partition, because it was getting low on space, and i need a larger partition for school this semester. Now i don't notice the noise at all. But now, i can't remake my Bootcamp partition, it says that my hard drive keeps failing. I tried doing Disk utility verify and repair, and it fails both. I tried it through the Leopard disc, and the repair does work, but when i retried the Bootcamp thing, it still gives me the same error. Now this is really bad, because i need Windows for school, which i go back in 1.5 weeks.

Let me tell you guys about my 'journey,' if you, will with Apple. I bought my first one Not this past Christmas but the one before, it was the 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 160 GB HDD, and 256 Nvidia 8600M GT card. Within 2 weeks, my graphics card died, i was only able to use my computer, if my external Samsung monitor was hooked up. I took it to the Apple Store, they checked it out, said they have never seen that before, and 2 weeks later, i get a replacement. Now i thought that was enough, but no, more thigns happened to this newer one. This one lasted me 3 months when the Superdrive died, as well as my logic board, from what the Apple store said. So i was ticked off by this point, especially since they said they wouldn't give me a new computer, just swap out the parts. So i talked to one of the product specialist managers, and after a few hours af arguing, i got the one i have now, a 2.5 GHz, 250GB HDD and 512 MB Nvidia 8600M GT card. Guess what, within about 3 weeks, the computer failed to boot to the Mac partition, it would only boot to Windows. So i took it to the ITR department at school, they fixed it with Drive Warrior. The product specialist told me that i couldn't get another computer from them unless i buy another one. Luckily, i got a new warranty with it, but my Applecare support is out, so i can't call them.

I posted this noise problem in the past, and people say that they think it's a failing hard drive. I sure as h*ll hope not, but with this Bootcamp thing now, i really wonder. I mainly bought a Mac because iw as going into graphics design in college, now i'm switching to mechanical engineering, and my school uses all PC, and the programs are all PC as well. I'm using Solidworks, if anyone is familiar with that. I have it now for PC, but if i can't make this Bootcamp partition, this computer is worthless to me. $2500 down the drain.

If anyone could help me out, it would greatly be appreciated.
