• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Camcorder records hum while recording

I have an HDR-HC7 and it is a minidv camcorder. I noticed that while I record, I can hear a hum in the background. The hum is from the minidv spinning while recording and the microphone picks up the sound. Is there anyway to silence the humming or is there a software that can remove the humming? I have final cut studio and Adobe Master Collection.

I can't wait to hear some suggestions on this one. I have HDR-HC3. I don't have hum under normal operations but when I use it underwater you can really hear it. I have a couple housings that I use. I use FCE so hopefully the suggestions will work for me...

I don't think the HC3 can use an external mic. Can the HC7? That would probably work.

Can you take the audio thru GarageBand's Visual EQ? I haven't tried it, though.
