Black Screen Error

Hello All,
I was downloading some system updates last night, it was taking so long, I went to bed, I get up this morning turn it on and I see this grey screen with alot of computer language, also this message that I need to restart, when i do this it shuts down ,then I start it up and the same message pops up. Any suggestions on what I can do?, does anyone know what Im talking about.

Its a kernel panic

Try starting up after disconnecting all external drives and peripherals

See if you can start up in safe mode (press S on start-up)

If the panic persists, you may need your restore disks to do an arhive and install
