According to this:

Confirmed: New MacBooks Support 6GB RAM

New macbooks are capable or running safely up to 6GB, and I've read others running 8GB of Ram..

The question is, is there a 4GB DDR3 memory card available that isn't $600ish?

I would consider adding one 4GB card to run along with one of my 1 GB cards in my 2.4 macbook if it wasn't so dam expensive.

Is there such a thing as a 3GB card of RAM? Then you could use a pair of those versus running one 4GB and one 2GB. It would even them out, and might be cheaper if the 4GB one is so much $$$. Then you could use different ones and even come up with 5GB of RAM.

Just thinking out loud, don't take this post in the wrong way or anything

Well technically the OS is a 64bit, so it could address more than 3.2GB of RAM(Technical limit of a 32bit OS).

You have anymore information on this?

Edit, NVM, reading is fundamental. LoL

i have never seen a 3GB RAM card but i have read into this 6GB of RAM in the new Macbook Pro.. i did not know the Macbooks could utilize it.. and it uses 1x4GB stick and 1x2GB stick... it also said that they tried to use 2x4GB stick and the notebook with crazy it wont work with 8GB of RAM. btw the cheapest i found the 4GB sticks where $600 bucks... i made a thread about this already.
