Hi guys,

I have an issue with my G4 Mac Mini (running Leopard 10.5.6). There is a CD in the drive and will not come out. I know it is in there because I can hear it spinning at times and I can't put a CD in the drive, which means there is a CD in there.
It is NOT registering at all on the dekstop or iTunes etc. I have tried holding down the left mouse button as my mac starts up but nothing happens! Ahh can anyone help me? :)

Does the CD show in Disk Utility? If so, it may be possible to eject it from DU.

try to attach a usb mouse to it, often the wireless drivers kick in too late for the left button trick at start-up to work

Nope, no luck :( I plugged a single-click USB apple mouse in and held the button down, but no luck

Do you feel confident to open up your Mac Mini to get at the optical drive? There's a very good video of How To on YouTube YouTube - Upgrading Mac Mini
Once you've got the optical drive out, you can gain access to the pinhole which should enable you to eject the stuck CD manually using a straightened paper clip.
