• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Basically, here's the situation. I've finally filled up the 160GB HD on my Macbook. I have a 320GB iOmega in waiting and want to transfer all of my movies (104 of them :p) onto the portable HD so I can just watch them/sync off there. How would I go about this?

Might want to give it a bit more than 20 minutes :)

Besides, this is really in the wrong forum. I'll move it to where you'll get more subject matter experts looking at it.

Thanks, I was just saying "anyone" because there seemed to be a lot of people in that forum. I was a bit undecided what section to use as well, it kinda crosses over into both. I thought Movies and Video was more towards the editing of, rather than actual movies etc. But yeah, thanks anyway ;)

Yeah, the Apple Notebooks forum is more aimed at hardware issues.

louishen - I think since iTunes has updated, the post you recommended has now changed. It does not give me an option as to which folder I want it in.

Does anyone else know a solution? Under FILE/LIBRARY it says 'Consolidate Library...' and 'Export Library...' When I click consolidate, I get this message.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks for all those who have contributed so far.
