I don't know whether I should be looking in a UNIX forum instead of here but I recently bought an iMac after using PC's. My problem is: How do I search the file system for duplicate files which will be taking up memory space unnecessarily? I'm looking for a utility or instructions.

So far I have no utilities for iMac maintenance except for McAfee. Any suggestions?

Thanks

General Miantenance utilities that are good are Onyx and MainMenu

But you can find a comprehensive list of cool software in the forum guide

follow the links

as for duplicates, that is fine if you are thinking about your own files, but I would leave any system files well alone, what dupes are you after, gerneral files or more specific like itunes songs and photos
