Ok so I had this problem where if I put something in the SITES folder I could see it when I went to http://myip/~myusername but my dell and other computers couldn't see it, it would instead say there was a DNS error.
Then when me or any other computer went to http://myip/ it would show the 'You have succesfully installed Apache' page.
I realized that page was coming from:
macintosh HD/Library/WebServer/Documents

So I made a backup of everything in that folder and replaced it with a page that I made named index.html and it worked but the page has to be named index.html or it won't work.
I recommend making a backup of the stuff in that folder like I did.

If you have any other solutions to this problem PLEASE POST THEM!!!!!

Ok Actually that might not even work, I think this only applies to people using a netgear router because of the firewall and it only makes it so other computers on your network can view your site. Computers outside your network cannot see your site.
I've contacted netgear to ask them how to disable the firewall.

You need to setup a port forward for the world to see it ... just set your IP as Static then forward port 80 thought to that IP then when you go http://**your_ip_here** it will take you to the site
