Looking to get an external harddrives from Western Digital-
My Book 500g or My Passport 500g

What do you guys think??

Comes down to if you need mobility or not for your external HDD, and what you are using the external for.

Just a standard back up harddrive. I don't really need the portability- reliability is what I'm really looking for

They are the same brand. >_>" I would imagine the reliability to be pretty much the same.

If it's just for backups, I'd get the desktop model. It will be faster. Either way, you shouldn't have too many reliability problems if it's just sitting on your desk.

I get a little uncomfortable when my MBP powers things. It gets hot enough already...
