Analog Audio out

Can I use a regular stereo (headphone type) plug to hook up my stereo outs from my Airport Express?

I am hooking it to an intercom system for audio and I have to go into RCA jack on it.

In theory this should work. You can convert a speaker level headphone connection to a line level RCA connection using a cheap adaptor from Radio Shack.

I don't have an AE, but I assume you can control the volume of the AE from the Mac. Speaker level connections have adjustable volume, and line level connections have a fixed volume. So you may need to fiddle with the volume levels a bit to make it work.
