Any free/cheaper than Stuffit compression programs out there? All I want to do is to compress a file into .zip or .tar format so that a CAD file is not corrupted when I send it. Being a one-shot deal, I'd rather avoid buying Stuffit for > or = $60. Please advise Cheap in Fairbanks what to do.

Zip is built in to OS X

In tiger right click on the file and select Create archive of filename

In Leopard right click on the file and select Compress filename

Both will create a ZIP file, and totally free

well I'll be....

If that ain't one of the smartest little additions to OS X, then I don't know what is. 'course, since I didn't know about this, then I probably don't "know what is" anyway! Cake walk. Thanks again for the help from the forum community. I owe you guys, but like my dad always says "Better to owe somebody than to just never pay."
