Hey guys,

I am using an older generation white Macbook that runs on Leopard. I understand that the newer version of the same Macbook and the new line of Macbooks have the forward, backwards, play/pause buttons on the keyboard itself. My generation of Macbooks don't seem to have that printed on any of the keys.

My F10 to F12 buttons are free for the most part, and I'd like to assign them to do the above functions, just so that it is easier for me to control my iTunes. Any idea how I can do that? Thanks!

How old is your MacBook? Mine which is the previous model (Feb 2008) has the iTunes controls = F7, F8, and F9 already built in. Anyway, you would need to find a third party application which allows re-assigning or re-programming the keys. The Preference Panel Mouse and Keyboard settings do not allow for re-programming keys.

Do you have a remote control for your MacBook? You can use it to control iTunes directly and not have to mess with the keyboard.

Regards.
