VLC on Repeat

How do I get the VLC Player to repeat a video each time?

There's a button on the bottom that looks like a rounded rectangle with two arrows inside. Click on it and it'll repeat the video.

Additionally, there seems to be a consistent lag every minute or so. The video will freeze on a frame for 2-3 noticeable seconds while the audio goes on. This is happening with an .avi. Any ideas?

Is it one file in particular or is it doing it with all avi files?

This 2-3 second lag (n both audio and video) has become more prominent in all .avi files. Any fix yet?
