Hi

I've been using OS X 10.5.5 to access my HSBC online account on Safari, but it stopped working last week following the 10.5.6 update.

I called HSBC today, and the first thing they asked was if I was using a Mac and Safari. They say that the update has stopped users getting into their bank accounts. They advised me to use Firefox - and that did work.

Safari still has many problems to overcome with financial and game sites in particular. Go Firefox!

A few Banks need to get their act together but most, like mine, are fine with Safari. Yes I'm using OSX 10.5.6.
I keep an updated version of Firefox available for those problem sites.

Apparently HSBC supports Safari 2.0....trouble is a fully patched 10.5.6 includes Safari 3.2.1
I'm guessing HSBC haven't managed to catch up with the changes that Apple have made to their browser. As stated above, try Firefox or Opera in the interim period.
