overheat during gameplay

i've noticed while i play games that my mac likes to have its fan on FULL BLAST spinning about 6000rpm

any way to fix this?

As you know, notebooks used to be called laptops. They changed the names because these "laptops" ran very hot, and are therefore not suitable for use on your lap. I experience the same thing. I just move the macbook to a different part of my desk every once in a while to prevent this from happening. Hope this helps!

I play WoW on my MB as well and it can get very hot. This is why I recommend quitting all applications while running a game on your MB.

Any game you play taking advantage of 3d graphics is going to "work out" your video card. The fans keep it cool, the same as they do in a desktop. The desktop just isn't sitting 2' from your ear typically. i.e. They are doing their job.

There usually is a 1 to 1 relationship between the MBP getting hotter and the fans revving up ;D
