How can I read my old MS Windows (AVI, etc) movie DVDs on my new MacBook ? They all look empty.

thanks JGruber. this sounds like a good solution for importing WMVs. But are there tools like this for AVIs ? Couldn't find any so far.

If the movie files are .avi files. They should play without anything special, unless it was encoded in some funky .avi codec.

Have you tried to play them in Quicktime?
